MNLI and DTI hold Product Development Consultation

Mga Likha ni Inay (MLNI), the retail arm of CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) conducted a product development consultation in Cauayan City, Isabela.

The activity was organized to intensify the product development program of DTI which is mandated to improve the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

The Product Development consultation is one of the activities in CARD MRI’s Kaunlaran Caravan, a community outreach program conducted regularly. Thirteen local micro-entrepreneurs from several municipalities in Isabela availed the service.

DTI and Go Negosyo Mentors Mr. Cesar Pasco and Mr. Renel Betralo discussed current market trends in packaging and labeling, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements, and current programs of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) for MSMEs.

The two-phase activity was completed with a product clinic and assessment or one-on-one consultations wherein participants had the opportunity to avail and ask technical questions from professional product development consultants.

“This activity really means a lot to us, the one-on-one session with the consultants gave us additional knowledge on how we can do better with our business and crafts,” said Romelyn Romero, CARD RBI client with handicraft business.

“We hope that through this activity, it would bring positive outcome from our clients. Given the right opportunity, we believe that these entrepreneurs can do better with their products and services,” said Marilyn M. Manila, President of MLNI.

Manila also added that this consultation will be a one of the regular activities CARD MRI Kaunlaran Caravan.
