Wider health outreach. CARD MRI conducted a series of community health day (CHD) in several municipalities of South Cotabato on October 22-25, 2019 in collaboration with Center for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD), Inc. and Microfinance and Health Program (MaHP) unit. A total of 1,758 microfinance clients, their dependents, and the general public from the municipalities of Banga, Tampakan, Lake Sebu, and T’boli benefitted from the program. Health services such as free medical, dental, and optical check-up were provided. Most of the microfinance clients who were present are members of indigenous groups T’boli and B’laan, among others. CHD is a nationwide weekly simultaneous activity organized by CARD MRI as part of its commitment in ending poverty by providing medical access closer to underprivileged communities and families in the country. CARD MRI is a group of 23 institutions and has been in business for 33 years committed to end poverty in the country. To date, more than 300 municipalities have benefitted from the Community Health Day with a total of 300,000 Filipinos nationwide.
