CARD MRI establishes more digital communities
To continue its advocacy for financial inclusion, CARD MRI lists 11 more konek2CARD digital communities for the first quarter of 2021.
The CARD Banking Group establishes konek2CARD digital communities in barangays where internet connectivity may be limited. WIFI access is set up in the digital communities so that residents can freely access the konek2CARD mobile application. Further, konek2CARD agents can be found in the digital communities to assist clients in making transactions such as loans and bills payments, cash in and cash out.
“Bringing financial services closer to our clients is our primary goal in setting up these digital communities. Going to our banks may pose difficulties for our clients due to the challenges brought by the pandemic. As such, we hope that through our mobile app konek2CARD and these digital communities, we provide a safer and more convenient way of banking,” said Ms. Flordeliza L. Sarmiento, Managing Director of CARD MRI.
The new digital communities established are located at: Brgy. Santiago and Brgy. Bautista in San Pablo City, Laguna; Brgy. Tagpuan in Los Banos, Laguna; Brgy. Manaol of Calauan, Laguna; Brgy. Lusacan in Tiaong, Quezon; Brgy. San Roque of Hagonoy, Bulacan; Poblacion Makilala in Kidapawan; and Brgy. Mandug at Buhangin in Davao City; Gasan in Marinduque; and Sariaya and Candelaria, Quezon.
Currently, CARD MRI has 17 digital communities; of which 14 are located in CARD Bank areas, two
in CARD Rizal Bank Inc. and one for CARD SME Bank.
CARD MRI clients may opt to proceed to these digital communities for transactions such as withdrawals, deposits, cash remittance, loan payments and applications, and other services instead of heading to banks for physical transactions. Loan applications can also be filed in these digital communities.
CARD MRI also plans to extend their services to non-members where they hope to introduce konek2Card and its benefits such as cashless transactions. Merchants, such as drivers and sari-sari store owners, could use QR codes as a way of payment of customers enabling faster and safer transactions.
By the end of 2021, CARD MRI hopes to establish 40 digital communities all over the Philippines.
