CARD MRI recognizes women’s excellence through the Galing ni Nanay Awards 2014

The CARD MRI recognizes and awards its clients whose hard work improved their economic conditions and inspire many individuals through “Galing ni Nanay” (GNN) Awards. The awards night was held at CARD-MRI Development Institute (CMDI), Bay, Laguna last December 13, 2014.

Winners were selected from each financial institution of CARD MRI and from them, the grand winner was chosen. Mrs. Jocelyn Comaling from CARD, Inc. who offers printing services is the GNN 2014 grand winner. Other awardees are Mrs. Victoria de Torres, from CARD Bank, landscaping and gardening business; Mrs. Catalina Camilet, from CARD SME Bank, food business; Mrs. Leodegaria Gamez, from Rizal Rural Bank, furniture business; Mrs. Eleanor Lioc (Masigasig Awardee) from CARD Bank, sweets and candy-making business; and Mrs. Ester Shiela Vitto (Malikhain Awardee), footwear making and repair business. In addition, CARD MRI also recognizes last year’s GNN 2013 awardees for another recognition they attained in Citi Microentrepreneur of the Year for 2014. They were Mrs. Ernanie Llema, Mrs. Dolores Ramos, and Mrs. Lucila Datuin. The awardees received cash prizes, plaques of recognition and tokens. Awardees together with the nominees also joined the Hijos de San Pablo Tour, an eco-tourism program of CARD MRI, as part of their reward.

CARD MRI’s GNN nominees have businesses that contribute to the local economy, not only generating employment in their local community but also promoting the spirit and discipline of entrepreneurship. They also serve as the model citizen of the community with high moral standards and exhibiting socially responsible behavior.

The Galing ni Nanay Award is a nationwide program of CARD MRI that seeks for excellence, hard work, integrity and entrepreneurial spirit among its clients. The program started in 2012 with its goal of inspiring more individuals by highlighting the success of CARD MRI’s clients in their businesses.

CARD MRI continues to empower women through continuous access to financial, micro-insurance, health, education, livelihood trainings and other capacity-building services and will continue to recognize its clients’ efforts in building a brighter future for their family and for the community.
