CARD MRI reaches to Samareños through health programs

Over 1,400 Samareños benefited from the four Community Health Days (CHDs) in the towns of Lorente, Quinapondan, Basey, and Catbalogan City in Samar on January 17-20, 2018 as part of the activities of Microfinance and Health Protection (MaHP) Unit of CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI).

Through MaHP, CARD MRI provides medical, dental, and optical services as well as health education to raise awareness on various kinds of diseases. All these services are given to the people for free or practically at a very low price.

“Community Health Day is one of our major activities in MaHP, which extends health services to different places nationwide. These services are even offered to those in the remote areas,” said Marilyn Manila, Director of Community Development Group.

“Due to its geographical location, Samar was affected by the typhoon because of its geographical situation facing the Pacific Ocean, this place needs medical assistance, that is why it is a challenge for us to serve the Samareños. This is part of our efforts to extend medical intervention to remote areas,” she added.

The success of the CHD is impossible without the participation of the doctors, dentists, and nurses as well as that of BotiCARD, Inc., a pharmacy of CARD MRI that provides quality medicine at affordable prices.

Since 2006, CARD MRI has been helping and providing healthcare services and programs nationwide to CARD members, their families and their communities. With this, it envisions to improve the lives of Filipinos through better health and increased awareness.

BotiCARD is a member institution of CARD MRI, a microfinance and social development institution that aims to eradicate poverty in the Philippines.
