Pioneer was among the first insurance companies to go to Tacloban during Yolanda. Together with our partner, CARD, a Pioneer team started processing the claims the day after the calamity hit, disbursing benefits in cash for the convenience of our clients to start anew.
During their stay, the team worked with some of Pioneer’s partners Center for Agricultural and Rural Development (CARD) and KabalikatparasaMaunladnaBuhay (KMBI) and traversed through towns in Samar and Leyte, visiting clients and validating CaMIA housing and KMBI death claims. Before leaving each household or site that they visited, the team would assess the value that the clients can claim the next day from CARD. Even if the disbursements may have been not enough to compensate what was lost, the financial property assistance they received was still ample help. And for this, the clients shared their gratitude with the team for its involvement in efficiently processing claims.
