The Center for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD), Inc. (A Microfinance NGO) celebrated its 36th anniversary in serving Filipino communities through financial, non-financial services, and community development services on December 10, 2022.

CARD, Inc. was established in 1986 by Dr. Jaime Aristotle B. Alip and other development practitioners. Its establishment paved the way to the growth of CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI), which is group of 25 organizations specializing in microfinance, microinsurance, banking, information technology, business development, education, marketing, health, tourism, and publishing, among others.

“CARD, Inc. is known as the marines of CARD MRI. Among the institutions under CARD MRI, we are the first to reach the most remote barangays in the Philippines. It has always been our role to introduce CARD MRI’s holistic approach to development,” said CARD Inc. Executive Director Vicente Briones, Jr.

In 2008, CARD MRI was awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Public Service. Recently, CARD, Inc. was also named one of The Philippines’ Best Employers 2023 by Inquirer.Net and Statista, under the categories of Economy, Politics, and NGO. It ranked 42nd overall.

Briones further stated, “With our unwavering passion and heart in our mission to eradicate poverty in the country, CARD, Inc. pledges to continue our commitment to strengthen and intensify financial inclusivity throughout the country, especially when it comes to the digitalization of products and services designed for our clients.”

As of October 31, 2022, CARD Inc. has more than 2.67 million clients served with more than 6,000 employees and 1, 540 offices all over the country. For more information about CARD, Inc., visit www.cardmri.com/cardinc or its Facebook page www.fb.com/CARDIncOfficial.
