The Center for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD), Inc. (A Microfinance NGO) placed 42nd in the first edition of the Philippines’ Best Employers List for 2023, while it leads the employer in the Economy, Politics, and NGO category garnering a score of 8.93.

The ranking was conducted by the Philippine Daily Inquirer in collaboration with Statista, the world’s leading data and business intelligence portal. The list is the culmination of an extensive research project that evaluates the responses of more than 11,000 employees from various industries. The survey asked the respondents about several aspects of their job such as pay, work-life balance, career growth, corporate culture, and company reputation as part of the employer’s scoring matrix.  The survey was conducted from May to July 2022.

Over 2,000 companies with more than 250 personnel in the Philippines were considered eligible for the employee survey, which was later narrowed down to 300 companies that scored the highest.

“We are beyond grateful for this recognition. For 35 years, CARD, Inc. has constantly strived to provide a better employee experience and strengthen our employee engagement. Recognizing to be one of the top workplaces in the country reaffirms that we are on the right track of empowering not only the Filipino communities but also our workforce,” says CARD MRI Managing Director Aristeo A. Dequito.

CARD, Inc. has more than 6,000 staff across the country working together to end poverty by opening opportunities to underserved families. The microfinance NGO provides access to microcredit, microinsurance, community development services, and other capacity-building programs that will empower Filipino communities.

The microfinance NGO was established by Dr. Jaime Aristotle B. Alip and other development practitioners in 1986. According to the Founder and Chairman Emeritus, its core values as an institution hold all its employees together since its establishment and up to the present. “It is always important to look back to move forward. This recognition is an outcome of the foundation that how those who came before us in the field of social and economic development laid for us. Now, it is a challenge for us to continue our mission of eradicating poverty in the Philippines while doing our best to also serve the greatest asset of our institution—our staff,” Dr. Alip stated.

CARD, Inc. is a member-institution of CARD MRI, a group of 23 organizations with a common goal of uplifting the lives of Filipino families through its microfinance, microinsurance, and social development programs. With more than 17,000 staff and 5,000 offices nationwide, it has reached 8.5 million clients and insured 27 million individuals. “We reached these milestones as an organization because we know how to listen to the ever-changing needs not only of our staff, but of our clients,” Dr. Alip concluded.
