In the first quarter of 2020, the Philippine government imposed a lockdown on many areas to flatten the curve of the infectious COVID-19 disease. Many establishments were closed and went out of business, causing a high rate of unemployment. Health, financial, and other sector services became difficult to access due to adjustments brought about by the lockdown coupled with increasing cases of COVID-19.

During these hard times, CARD Pioneer Microinsurance Inc. (CPMI) remained to be of service to their clients and has paid over 11 million pesos worth of claims in the months of March through June – this includes burial, accident, fire and calamity aid. Pinang-bayad namin sa kabaong niya [nanay] kasi nakahiram kami ng pera nung panahon na yun. Nung na-claim ko na, yun po ginamit namin na pambayad. Nagpasalamat kami kasi nakatulong talaga sa amin.
